I was a Primary School teacher for 10 years.
I am fully Police (CRB) checked.
I work with school groups visiting Trebah Garden near Falmouth and with local schools at school and in the landscape.

I have worked with children from ages 5 to 15.
At Trebah we often have groups of nearly 60 children.Half the group do an observational drawing activity around the gardens while the other group can work on a different activity in the Vinery studio or around the garden.

We often work in charcoal or with soft pastels doing large drawings of small sections of vegetation or individual leaves fruit or flowers.For younger children this can be a new experience, for older children it can be the inspiration for further work back in school.

There is always a raw energy and immediacy to work done in the landscape that is completely different to work done later from photographs and sketches. This experience is crucial to my painting and the work I do with children. To see 10 year old boys being excited by a patch of sunlight on the sea, teenagers engrossed in drawing bamboo stems or 5 year olds amazed at the variety of leaf shapes they can find and draw is quite magical for them to experience and for their teachers to watch.

I can do whole or half day sessions and can supply all materials or bring your own.

Fees start at £100 for half day £175 for full day with material costs charged extra.
